RYAN DOBRIN (he/him/his) is a queer, biracial New York-based director and producer interested in the exploration of emotional growth, spectacle, otherness, human connection, and morality. He is one of the Producing Artistic Leaders of The Movement Theatre Company, a 2021-2022 Embodying Antiracism Initiative guest artist fellow at Wesleyan University and the director of Those Guilty Creatures. Previous directing fellowships include The Drama League, Playwrights Horizons, Manhattan Theatre Club, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Ars Nova, as well as the Roundabout Directors Group, 24 Hour Plays: Nationals and NAMT directing cohorts. Recent directing includes productions and development with the University of Michigan, IRT Theater, The Brick Theater, Victory Gardens Theater, Clubbed Thumb, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Mercury Store, Fault Line Theatre, Fordham University, Atlantic Acting School, NYU's Experimental Theatre Wing, Shakespeare Academy at Stratford, A4, Playdate Theatre, Ars Nova, The Drama League, and Waterwell. He has been an associate or assistant to directors on and off-Broadway including Tony Award-winners Billy Porter, Sam Gold, and Christopher Ashley, Olivier Award-winner Maria Friedman, as well as Trip Cullman, Tyne Rafaeli, Margot Bordelon, and others.
